ARTC - Advanced Resuscitation Techniques Certificate
If you currently hold ARC you are required to attend an upgrade as Defibrillation and ARC awards are now combined and have a suction component. If you have Defibrillation Certificate only, you will need to do the whole ARTC course.


Bronze Medallion proficiencies
Bronze Medallion proficiencies are conducted annually and include resuscitation, run-swim-run, a rescue, signals, radio, first aid and basic spinal, defib and oxygen.

Surf Rescue Certificate [SRC]
Minimum age 13  
Radio Operator Certificate Minimum age 13

Bronze Medallion /
Cert II Public Safety

Minimum age 15  
Silver Medallion

(Patrol Captain)

Basic Beach Management

Minimum age 17 - must have Bronze Medallion  

Silver Medallion (AEC)

Advanced Emergency Care

Minimum age 17 - must have Bronze Medallion

IRB Driver

Minimum age 16 during training 17 at final assessment 

Boat licence and drivers licence with towing capabilities  

IRB Crew Must be 15 and hold Bronze Medallion  
Spinal Management Must be 16 and hold Bronze Medallion  
Advanced Resuscitation Techniques Certificate Must be 15  
   
Rescue Water Operator Craft (Jet Ski) Must hold Bronze, Silver, ARC, SFA, Maritime licence, Hold IRB Driver 12 months
Gold Medallion Must be 17, hold Bronze Medallion, Silver Medallion, ARC, SFA, AEC & Swim 800 metres in 14 minutes or less  
Training Officer Course Must be 16  
Training Assessor Course Must be 18
