Social Events

Early in January each year, on a Saturday night, the Club hosts the Whaley Community Barbecue from 6:30pm on the Surf Club deck. Everyone (including kids) is welcome to come along. Join in and meet the local community and surf club members.

Sunday Events and BBQ

Every Sunday during the patrolling season Whale Beach SLSC runs handicapped events which earn members points. Every competitor is awarded points according to their finishing time and position. The season's points score is revealed and awarded at the annual AWARDS presentation night.

Times of events

11:00am Surf Swim (400-800m swim around two buoys or a Bay to Breakers swim)
11:30am Racing/Wave Ski, Racing/Rescue Board races and relays
12:00pm Beach events (Flags and Sprints)
12:30pm BBQ on the Deck

All members are welcome to come along to club BBQs throughout the season. From 12:30pm we serve sausages, steak and burgers, salad and drinks. Volunteers for the BBQ roster to assist on a Sunday would be appreciated. Please email us your names and the dates you are available.
